An MMO where you can rent custom servers?

Something seems a bit off about that.

I'm also concerned about the total lack of any video material for the game, it's all static screens.

I'm interested in this, but it has all come about so fast that I'm a little skeptical..

The private server thing I'm thinking would be a direct reaction to alot of people wanting that feature in DayZ at the moment and not being able to, or knowing if they ever will.

Alot of the content they claim and hopefully will deliver is interesting, I'm looking forward to a more coop friendly non-linear world. I signed up for beta awhile ago but havn't heard back yet.

Alot of pressure on these guys now and it will be interesting to see it develop more.

Yah it seems a bit weird but hopefully this will do what League of Legends did for the mod DOTA of Warcraft 3. Which would be great for the genre for survival sandbox.

20 minutes of game footage with dev commentary has just been released.

Public access to the game sometime around the middle of October.

It's just your own storage space where you can store lewts (car parts, guns, food, first aid, tents, water, etc.)because in this game when you die you lose everything and the person who killed you loots it, also you can only carry so much before you become slow as well, a zombie. it's not like private FPS server rental or anything.

The last I heard you will be able to rent your own server. Although there are meant to be gear restrictions if you rent a server and lock it...which has pissed off the R/P community.

Pre-ordered this and can't wait to play from the 15th...

Is TOG going to be setting up a board/division for this game (I see there's one for Day Z...)?

I presume WarZ will be seperate from our current DayZ setup. Also DayZ will change since Rocket is "talking" about getting the stand-alone ready for before Christmas.

Alot going on with all the DayZ maps that have come out recently (although that seems to have caused problems as the Lingor and Panthera maps were not actually used with the creators permission!).

i've played DayZ, and found it engaging, but of course with the ARMA2 UI...clunky. i've been trying to gather as much information on The War Z as i can, and i am tempted to have a go with one of the pre-release packages. it seems more streamlined and user-friendly. of course i know Dean "Rocket" Hall has big plans for the stand-alone DayZ, so we'll see what he can do to improve the user-experience as far as patches, compatibility and all the nonsense that makes DayZ a challenge to play casually. regardless, here's some more info on The War Z...which looks quite promising :)
