Welcome to the TOG Battlefield Division!

The Older Gamers have a long history of playing Battlefield that goes all the way back to Battlefield 1942. It is a very active division with lots of great people (and some weird ones) -- you’ll fit right in. Here is all of the information you need to get started in the TOG Battlefield Division!

Getting Started in the TOG Battlefield Division
Follow these simple steps to join the division and find fellow TOGs.

    1. Register for the TOG Battlefield Division
Join the TOG Forums and Register for the TOG Battlefield division, it only takes a few seconds! Simply go to this forum and create a new post with:
      1) Your TOG details including a link to your public profile.
      2) The name of your Battlefield soldier
Then add your TOG tags to your profile and get in game!

    2. Apply For The BF 4 TOG Battlelog Platoon (Battlefield 4)
Log into Battlelog then Join the TOG Battlelog Platoon here. Click on the apply button. Once one of the game OPs has added you, use the View Members Playing page to find TOGs who are currently online.

    3. Jump on a TOG Battlefield Server
Jump on and play a few rounds! TOG Battlefield 1 servers will hopefully be available in mid-November.

    4. Setup Voice Communications
The TOG Battlefield division currently uses Gamevox for voice communications. [thread=642317]Follow this guide to set GameVox up[/thread]. Once set up, turn off "beep" notifications in Self > Settings > Notifications, then join the Battlefield channel.

    Making The Most of Battlefield
Here are some resources to help you find games, solve technical issues, and to improve your in-game performance!

New to Battlefield? Check out the
[thread=643632]Battlefield Boot Camp[/thread] for a good general overview of the game. There is also a [thread=644763]Battlefield 1 basic tips thread[/thread].

    1. Battlefield 1 Technical Issues
Is your game not running well or you have encountered a strange bug? Want to get a higher FPS? Want to make the game look better? Visit the [thread=644804]Battlefield 1 Technical Issues thread[/thread] [thread=643684](Old Beta Issues Here)[/thread] or [thread=633095]read the latest Battlefield 1 news[/thread].

    2. Check Out Upcoming Battlefield Events
We often have scrims against other clans and have fun events. Check out the stickies in the Battlefield Members Forum to see what events are next or check out the Event Calendar.

    3. Join a Battlefield 1 Competitive Squad (Coming soon!)
TOG will be running a casual-friendly internal competition for Battlefield 1. If you have never played competitive Battlefield before, now is the time to try it! It’s a ton of adrenaline-pumping fun. We also have fun scrims against our friends the Sneaky Ninjas. [thread=643570]Check out some videos of past scrims[/thread]!

    4. Set Up Your Mouse
The game is a lot easier if you [thread=593458]Set up your mouse for FPS games[/thread].

    5. Infantry Skill Thread
Tired of getting pwned? Visit the [thread=643643]Battlefield 1 Infantry Skill Thread[/thread] or the [thread=514877]Battlefiield 4 Infantry Skill Thread[/thread]. You’ll be the next ShadyNZ in no time!

    6. Vehicle Skill Thread
Want to watch the body parts fly as you dominate in a tank or plane? Visit the [thread=643631]BF1 Vehicle Skill Thread[/thread] or the [thread=515381]BF4 Vehicle Skill Thread[/thread].

    7. Turn off Motion Blur
Motion blur looks cool but makes it much harder to aim. Learn how to Turn motion blur off in BF4. It is much easier to turn off motion blur in Battlefield 1, just look for the slider in the graphics settings.

    8. Upload Some Videos!
Share the fun by [thread=643438]learning how to record your gameplay[/thread]. Upload your video to the [thread=521618]TOG Battlefield Video thread[/thread].

    9. Donate to TOG Battlefield’s Server Fund
The only way we can provide servers for the Battlefield player base is through donations. All donations are appreciated -- [thread=583836]Donate to the TOG server Fund[/thread].

Asking For Help -- Battlefield Game Ops
The TOG Battlefield division has a number of “Game Ops” who are responsible for:

    • Managing map rotations and game modes on TOG servers
    • Rebooting the server
    • Kicking and/or banning players for excessive bad language, player abuse, trolling, using map exploits or hacking.
    • Resolve disputes between players
    • Providing relationship advice (not really)

If you require help, talk to Game Ops in Teamspeak/GameVox or send them a private message (contact details below).

    TOG Anti-Hacking Policy
TOG has a zero tolerance policy on hacking. If you cheat, we will find you and permanently ban you. If you suspect another player of cheating, contact one of the TOG leadership group via a private message (details listed below). Do not post “hackusations” on the forums.

    TOG Code of Conduct
Read the [thread=152268]TOG Code of Conduct[/thread] to understand the level of conduct expected of members. TOG is a mature gaming community that does not tolerate racism, sexism, homophobia, player abuse or “excessive” foul language (no C-Bombs, no use of the term r**e). Want to know we ban the use of the r**e? This article sums is up well.

Basically: “Don’t be a dick -- be nice and have fun”.

Here are the links to the TOG administrative processes:

Click on names to view profiles, send an email or send a private message.

Did you find this guide useful or as useless as tits on a bull? Do you have any ideas for extra information we should be including? Leave feedback by posting in this thread or by contacting one of the Battlefield game ops.

Once I'm granted full membership I'll submit the division form. I'd like to play. I've got a mic and TS3.
