I have updated as instructed, but I am getting some mismatch errors when I try to join the server. It is telling me that the Forge Mod Loader has found ID mismatches including: ID 31972 from Mod ModularForceFieldSystem is missing ID 31996 from Mod MineFactoryReloaded is missing ID 31985 is mismatched between world and game Anyone know how to fix this?
Yep, figured it out. The trick wasn't to delete the config file, but to copy/replace the config files that were updated.
Some things I have noted: * HTTP is not activated for ComputerCraft * I can't light nether portals (don't know if this is intentional or not)
I've re-set the http api for ComputerCraft. The change will take effect on the next reboot. We saw the nether portal happen a little earlier. Flint and steel are being a bit odd in spots. try clicking on a different block in the portal.
With this much coruption would it be worth doing a full reset? Yea I know I wouldn't really want it with the amount of work I have done but would it be better for the long term? Another issue. Will replacing this config file stuff my other direwolf20 servers I join? Or change my single player maps?
The thought has crossed my mind. Although we seem to have the worst of it under control now, something could come up later that we can't anticipate. I know that a good number of people will be put out by a server reset. It will have the greatest effect on those that have put the most time and effort into their mining and building. Saving the world, if it can be saved, is my preference, but I'm happy to hear people's thoughts on the matter, as this affects everyone.
I have not been as active or have places as big as others but with what i see around the world like ore blocks replaced with soul cages etc i personally wouldnt mind a world reset and think it would be best for longterm playability. This is just my 2cents on the issue. I will continue on server regardless of decision Edit: Or mayby test the backup from the 18th i have? I mean yeah people would lose a week but if that save has no corruption it might be better alternative for people than full reset?
I'll take a step back from this one as for me, a backup from a week ago is a full reset for me anyway (which is fine with me, for the greater good) . The one bonus of being noob haha. All I'll lose is a macerator (which I blew up after the current backup we're using now with the wrong voltage [D'oh!] so I have it back now, yay) and some rubber trees...
I reckon we hose it, sooner rather than later, it goes without saying everyone would rather not reset, but with this much corruption and needing a custom config only a few weeks in, we could be well on our way back to where we were in a few days.
Reset is Ok by me. I think it would be far worse to continue on only to have problems down the road and have to reset anyway..
The question I have is the custom config files, is that a fix for this world, or tweaks that will improve or decrease the lag with DW2 in general? If the config file changes are going to be with us even after a reset then it lessens the case for a reset, but if they are here simply to keep the existing world, it strengthens the case (in my eye) for a reset. * Keep in mind all of that is from a play who stands to lose less than a weeks worth of build on the server.
The custom config was to help fix this world and as a result my single player worlds are incompatible. As much as I like my tower I see a reset as a better long term solution.
Personally I am happy with things as they are. However if we are going to do a reset I would rather do it now rather than later after I have done more work. After all, the thought of maybe a reset will bring server activity to a halt anyway. So...reset in an hour from now?
Would be nice for a reset tonight and get to work tomorrow though I would not be able to play for the next 4 days.
