Anyone playing Path of Exile? It's an action RPG, in the Diablo style. I've really enjoyed it so far throughout the Beta, if you have a chance, check it out. Path of Exile
Used to play it. Stopped because farming for currencies got boring. It is a really good game though and those disappointed with D3 should definitely give it a shot. As for the skill tree, it is really Skill of Life Nodes! You really need to buff your defenses like crazy if you are planning to map
Did my first race of the season last night, a one hour hardcore solo. My goodness that was fun!! i was terrible, of course, but i didn't die and that's what i was aiming for
I'm getting back into it now. I supported it in beta and I even have a Kiwi, but all my derpy friends just lost interest. Well now maybe I can get nice and balls deep in it.
I recently got back into this with their addition of the 4 month leagues. I'm playing mostly in the Anarchy league atm, account name is the same as my forum name (PhearMark) if you want to add me.
Yeah I am playing it, mostly casual at the moment, sometimes its just nice to zone out bashing mobs and grabbing loot I've got a Duelist archer with my forum name (Adendis) on the anarchy league at the moment if anyone wants to add me.
This game really has more of a D2 feel than D3 gave. I've watched some streams on twitch, but haven't checked it out. Is it pretty addictive?
It's decently addictive. It falls into one of the main problems I have with core ARPG design of requiring you to either 1) go super defensive to avoid dying all the time at later difficulties levels but doing poor damage without amazing gear or 2) always have a group of people to play with so you can have a ton of buffs and your damage can be utilized without dying. I personally think it's the most complete ARPG available right now in terms of customization, item variety, build variety, special events, etc. However, it still has the issue of being very difficult for someone like myself to fully enjoy without a full group due to its difficulty so I'm not sure how deep I'll end up playing any one character. If you like ARPGs in general I'd definitely say give it a shot. For your first few characters probably just look up a build on their forums though as the passive skill tree is incredibly intimidating when you first start.
I am playing it almost exclusively now. I enjoy it so much I donated $55 toward their development. I have an occasional lag death, but usually it is smooth, even as a summoner with a small army following. My present character is Gnards and I'd love to play with some good folks. The only bad thing is loot grabbing like Diablo 2 so I don't party much. edit: Playing a 2nd character now, aSporkster
As I said before my in-game account name is PhearMark (should be able to just add friend through that name) and I tend to play it through steam (same name there) so if you see me playing feel free to hit me up. I have characters in Anarchy across the level range from 10 to 60 and I'm always down to roll a new character to try something new. They HAVE added a looting mode for 'permanent loot' where all rares, uniques, and everything with 5 or 6 linked sockets are automatically assigned to a player forever instead of just for a set time. I tend to only make and join groups with this looting setup as trying to get to items quick enough is very annoying. This mode does unlock items when you leave the zone though so keep that in mind. But if I were playing with ToG people it wouldn't be a worry anyway =D
I generally run perm loot rules simply as US & EU server pings are too high to get the goods. I can't remember my ign right now, (falling asleep) however I'm always up for grouping as there is much more xp & loot in groups than solo.
Odd, I guess you have to use a character name even though it'll add the account name. I did get your steam request also (and accepted) but try putting in "Twrosha" for the in-game friend list and see if that works.
