its only cuz its such a big title with so much media coverage. If MW2 or L4D2 stuck to their guns and refused to water down the gore in their games, the classification board would have still passed it eventually because sooner or later, someone higher up than them is going to look at the tax sheets and go "zomg! why are we not recieving $10000000000000 from these game sales?! oh wait, some idiot working for me banned it, time to go fire him!"

actually L4D2, maybe not, but MW2 would have definitely made it through no matter what because if it didnt, the government would have had a riot on their hands!

I don't believe the review board is associated with the government directly like that. Its an independant organisation. That's probably why Atkinson doesn't trust them. He won't hold any sway to make sure they choose what he believes in.

yes, but those people have a boss, and that boss will have people he has to answer to, and somewhere in that chain of important people is going to be someone who looks after money. When that person sees a huge monetary loss, flags will get raised and the blame will start getting passed around till someone is sacked. The joys of bureaucracy!

Besides, even with an R18 rating in place, the extremely messed up games like Atkinson's favourite example, Rapeplay, would still be banned.

Personally I plan on running through my shopping centre screaming with it attached to my head

P.s. I should mention the Hunter ed will be available on PC,Xbox and PS3 and yes it will be available to those of us in Aus.

That aliens vs pred classic (2000) that's been released, is there a chance it's not actually #1 but the sequel? I want to play #2 again. And for 5 bucks...

It's the original version with Gold Edition and Millennium Expansion Pack content except the multiplayer portion but apparently this will be added in a future patch. If they incorporate co-op (the original had it) then I'll get it for sure :)

I too would like to see AvP2 on Steam!!

I'm thinkin' I'll get the pre-release. Is that price fair? Not really wanting Universe at War but I don't have any RTS here. ('cept c&c #1 but who's gonna count that.) Lookin' at the Bioshock 2 pre-release price I'm reminded of the price rape we get here. but $70 bucks seems fair, No?

I'd personally wait to see if any nasties are attached to it (3rd party DRMs for instance) and how it will operate through STEAM (but thats Me and I'm a sceptic;):D)

I have Universe at Wat and it had some interesting twists on the RTS theme, but I mostly just played random matches vs the computer; didn't get far into the storyline.

I saw that steam preorder, so started looking around. It gives 3 player skins, which is cool, but doesn't mention the maps other releases get. I think I will be getting the Hunter version. I want the facehugger :)

Just in case you missed the announcement by Father... if you pickup a Gold or Platinum TOG Supporter Plan (annual only, not available on monthly) and then PM your steam account name, Father will gift you a copy of Mass Effect 2 (digital deluxe version) or this new Aliens vs Predator title! Please keep in mind this is a limited time offer.

Pretty cool deal, I grabbed it! :D

He gifted the Pre-order? Gee I'd intended on getting both those things. Just waitin' for pay-day. I guess my mind is made up on what to do. It's just a matter of convincing 'The Wallet' now.

Can you post a link Reoh?
