Nice find Chief - already had a key for CnC4 from Gamespot so plugged it in nice and easy.

ISP has the client on free download, so doesn't even impact my d/l allowance.

I should point out, Early Beta Access form the 17th is only avaliable if you have BC2.

Fear not, if you don't have Bad Company 2 linked to your EA account you will simply have to wait until the 21st (22nd in Australia) in order to access the Medal of Honor Beta.

Thanks Chief for those instructions and thanks Drac for letting me know.

I tested it out last night on some US servers and I must say it feels like a flashback to 2007 and Call of Duty 4. I don't see how this game brings anything new.

after 9 hrs of it i'm not too fussed with it... but i'm gonna stick with it for now. it's definitely not groundbreaking as far as fps go, but to me it's better value for money than the $89.00 they wanted for mw2 and will be much the same at the end of the day.

    i think.

I got it for the single player - that's always been MOH's strength in my opinion... but after putting a few hours into the MP - I can't honestly say I think it has any legs to it. With MW2 and BC2 out there, it's got some well established competition, and does little (if at all) to draw players away from what they know.

I know it's beta - but the design choices that have been made don't seem to be doing enough to make it a good and engaging game.

For me, it's a reasonable MW2 replacement. I guess we'll see how the other gametypes pan out solely for its ability to be hosted on dedicated servers.

Concerned over the seeming lack of recoil (I was swatting flies with the AK) but finally, different teams, different weapons!! Last time I saw that in a game I played was CS!

Clearly it's a DICE game when you take a look at the server browser - wow, they went 3 steps back on their woeful BC2 browser.

Yeah, the lack of recoil is amazing, but I think I sort of like what they have done to the sniper rifles. They don't have scopes, but rather a red dot sight. This forces snipers to go closer to the action.

It was horrible to play on US servers with a ping of 350ms.

Honestly if this game can provide a MW2 style experience with the ability to run dedicated servers then it may just win out imho.
I've never been a Battlefield fan (didn't mind 1942) but they always seemed to be a rush to get the vehicle...

Anyways, I've ordered, the Beta hits in a few days. It will at least kill some time.

I know it's only in beta stage but they really need to improve the splash damage on the rockets and RPG's, you pretty much have to hit the enemy dead on. I'm not the greatest of players but I'm pretty sure that I hit the ground near and enemy's feet and done no damage once or twice. So far it's looking good though and would compete with MW2 nicely...

That is if you bought BC2 on steam. A friend bought his copy of BC2 from cdwow (and hence it took ages as well, missed out on playing the BC2 beta) and doesn't get the access until 21st...

yes, tell me about it, it's like all guns are equivalent to a PP2000 - I never seen a Kalashnikov with no recoil.. but yes it's beta stage so mustn't be quick to judge...

and you get the scope in the next level of sniper, start off with red dot..

I just feel like i'm playing another expansion to CODMW2 just with a less of an interesting acheivement/rankup system. I hope they put something in it that's going to give me a woody so to speak.....dedi servers are a huge plus though.

I like the way they give you a choice of killstreak rewards. Do I go the Mortar Strike for personal glory or the Intel call for team happiness?

Maps are very atmospheric, the bullet noises are awesome.

Although the whole thing of calling out irrelevant info like "Shooter down!" and other such things is a bit stupid, and I'm sure no SF troop would ever waste his breath and give away his position with Americanized movie crap like that. Works both ways, gives you and them away, might be a balance addition to stop long term camping.
