I really had difficulty figuring out *where* on TOG to post this. I've recently discovered Ingress. Ingress is "a near-realtime augmented reality massively multiplayer online video game created by Niantic Labs". Ingress is played on mobile devices (originally on Android and now recently iOS as well), that uses the camera and geotagging of the phone to tag real-world landmarks ("portals") in the game to claim ("hack") those locations, join them together ("links") and claim the triangular areas ("fields") in between them for your chosen faction. ("Enlightened/Resistance"). I'm finding it quite absorbing - and because it's played in the 'real' world (ALL over the world), I guess that makes it the ultimate Strategy/MMORPG game. The augmented reality is made even more fun by the ability to submit locations in your local neighbourhood/work area/wherever for inclusion in the game. Any other TOGgers playing? If not, Check it out. Look me up; 'Cadder' on the Enlightened (Green) faction if you're anywhere in the vicinity of the Gold Coast /Brisbane area.
