    Meh just another lobby shooter.

Wish somebody would make a sucessor to WW2Online.

Until then I guess Planetside 2 will do.

received my beta invite today in time for the server stress-test. managed to get in only a few battles, but i have to say i am stunned this title runs in a browser. normally i wouldn't bother. there is a small client for the FPS portion, i believe, but that takes seconds.

as there is no NDA to speak of (the forums are open), i can say it is not really "just another lobby shooter", exactly. right now, the dev's want everyone jumping into whatever battle they can find on the map for testing balance/bugs, but the "generals" can organize whatever type of assault they wish, with combined arms restrictions etc.

there are very persistent elements built in (wars can last weeks), and it much more closely resembles WWII online than not. this game has great promise, and as they are passing out invites pretty regularly, it would seem like a good idea to sign up and give it a go if you are interested.

Only just got my Beta key yesterday. Played solo on the German side (as in not with friends). Looks and seems great, just being steam rolled wasn't so much fun (me with my rifle against sub-machine guns/tanks/planes/scoped rifles).

i've been in beta for months now. still a bit buggy in spots, but improvements come consistently enough. the recent announcement of the partnership with Square Enix should accelerate the development and public awareness of this fine game.

@Deranger...the base German rifle is quite accurate at range. take cover and choose your targets carefully, and the upgrades will come. also, driving a Stug III is great fun, to be sure.

Cheers Mach 5, think it was just the battles I entered were near to close and didn't have a chance to hold back as the allies were steam rolling any positions we held (probaby better coordinated/teamwork). Will give it another blast soon.

Been playing this a few times since I got the beta invite in October. I think they really need some type of Punk Buster or anti cheat/hack program because it seems to me like the exploits are running rampant in the game now. Taking the enjoyment out of it for me and I'm playing Planetside 2 more since it's launch and a lot less of H&G.

Being playing this for quite some time now with a group of friends outside of TOG,I know a couple of the DoDs guys have picked it and are playing (Mr Fixit,Unknown and Matz) but not anything too organised though.
I usually play as German,so if I play with the DoDs guys they play as US which means waiting till the current war is over and then swap sides and start a new character to rank up.

Been playing this for a few weeks now only on the US side, I'm up to lv9 Master Sergent now
yep the queues can be a bit painful at times it's even worse when it's an in game que and you have to wait for 2 more team mates to die before you can join again, I felt like I watched a whole match once in that que.
If any of you feel like playing look me up I'm shield75 in game.

I'm up for it when I'm on, I'm in WA so only 2hrs difference to Qld.

Not sure that I've seen a H&G channel on the tog ts but if there's enough interest maybe one can be added ?
