Very, very cool!
I just work here Dave ....... makes alot more sense when run in correct order and in full ... very cool indeed
Nice, so far I see no reason for me to not get this game
One thing that really sticks out in this video is the amazing animation work. Everything is super smooth looking - not much repetition, world clipping or animation state-popping despite the detailed and realistic movements. Also wondering how much of the "destruction" is procedural. It still seems just as, umm... "chunky" as it was in bad Company 2 with entire sheets of corrugated iron popping off walkways when shot. However it looks like they've upped the overall scale of the buildings and set pieces in the game.
I would have liked to see the overpass get taken out at some point showing some emergent strategies in shaping the logistic channels within a game, a bit like some of the later BC2 maps with bridges but on a much larger scale. Hopefully we'll see a bit more of that in the multiplayer BC3 maps.
i hope they don't make a BC3 drac .. BC2 was bad enough
Man I cant wait for this
One thing that bothers me though, is it just me or does the animation that shows the players left arm (ie - holding the front of the weapon) look a bit weird?
Something just doesnt look right about it!
The thing that sticks out the most to me is that:
1) Looks like it's played on a console.
2) Looks like it's pretty much on rails.
Its a mute point for me as I will be getting it as soon as it preoreders on Steam.
Its going to be a long 6 month wait though despite getting beta access through MOH preorder - Brink will fill the gap nicely I think
That was 12 minutes of total awesome.
Video defining one liners: " I just work here dave. " and " im f'ed up, but im up. " .
I just work here Dave
This preview made me.... well they can say it
Still want to see some mulitiplayer action, so far could of been any of the other shooters out there at the moment.
The commentary for the 12 min clip is out:
I haven't watched it yet, I have to go to work. But I' probably watch it there.
Geez man, that's just plain sick. I haven't bought a shooter in awhile but that's now on the list of possibles.
Yeah, what we're seeing is all carefully prepared and scripted. Can't blame them as it's still all pre-alpha they're using.
MP is where we see people going off-script, and doing things the devs haven't necessarily allowed or planned for. It also shows the real player movement speed, which is all-important. These days MP shooters have people blazing around like hyper-bunnies on speed. Completely unrealistic, and just encourages twitch-fire gameplay.
The real problem with not seeing MP is that with the COD series for example, the MP player speed is almost double the SP speed - Particularly the later games - not to mention the "perks" which might as well be steroids!
We'll see some MP action soon though - but it'll be internal "staged" testing I'm sure... either way I'll still be happy to see it!
It's all very pretty. Just hoping it's not just all very pretty.
I reckon that regardless of what happens this will the next "Shooter du Jour".
Sp looks like a crapload of fun so far.
If the MP holds up, and I think it will, then once again we'll see a mass exodus.
If 3 holds up like 2 did then I can see some longevity, definitely worth buying.
Switchable firing modes - yes please!!
