Was that the game with the really mad crazy finishing combos most of which you'd only ever get by accident. When you did it would scream out ULTRA ULTRA ULTRA ULTRA !! and your char would be a frenzied blur going to town on your opponent ?

*First game I played I don't know the name of was a platform style..Had this guy running through levels and he'd get power-ups / weapon upgrades and he sort of swang off stuff in a powered suit. Graphics were ahead of their time on release played it mid 80's..I thought it might of been an early Metroid man game as the character looked very similar but alas no.

First game I finished was Double Dragon.. The second game I recall playing :)

The first arcade game i ever played would have to be 'Punisher' - now THAT was an awesome game! i remember my mate and I would go down to the video store and waste sooo many 20c pieces on that game :D I played the mame version a year or so ago and it was still as good as i remember. Too bad the movie was absolute crap, almost wrecked the image of the game for me hahah :D

Asteroids for me.....I use to play in this bowling alley arcade. People would put quarters on the machine and wait in line to play. What a fun game back then...... look out! <Hyperspace> !! (pray)

Can anyone remember the film TRON?
And more importantly can you remember trying to work out all the acronyms hidden in it?
    like from TRS80 BASIC...

    TRON - trace on

    and ...

    ROM - Read Only Memory
    I/O - Input Output
BIT - Ovbious Im suprised the wasnt a byte or was there?
    BIT STREAM
    (the) PORT

et. cetera shame the game was a bit naff tho

Buggy Challenge, or Rock'n'Wrestle, I'm not sure which one ate my first 20 cents. :)

Woo, a thread close to my heart :)
Think the first arcade game I _remember_ playing. (Not counting being held up by my elder brother to play defender ;) ) was probably Commando. Think it ate all my holiday money!

It was Donkey Kong for me. My dad had a miniature version of it built like a real arcade machine. It ran on a buttload of D batteries and had LED lights for the sprites. Even had a mini joystick. I rarely got to play it because there weren't usually enough batteries around the house to power it!

I know that's cheating a little... I can't remember the first real arcade game I put quarters into. I remember watching 1942 at the local Pizza Hut. And Super Mario Bros. at Roses. Had to be one of those two!

Galaga - what a great game - got it on my iPhone now as well.

The original space invaders - table top sit down, single colour screen with the coloured cellophane so that the colours change as the invaders get lower and lower.

    First gaming device:

Nintendo: Game and Watch: Fire where you bounced the guys that jumped out of the burning building to safety. Single screen black liquid crustal. Classic.

First machine programming was on a 6502 so now full circle and have an iPhone. Too Funny.

My first arcade games were Space Invaders, Tutankham, Rally-X and some other similar titles.

Remember having a lot of play time on Sinistar, Mr Do, and Missile Command.

Up until a job layoff hit, I had Sinistar, Defender, Stargate and Rampage video games and then four solid state pinball machines Midway Goldball, Bally Centaur, Data East Phantom of the Opera, and Bally Addams Family.

I really don't remember? Probably Space Invaders. Though I do know what my favourite arcade game was... Stryder. What a game!

God that was a long time ago... but I'm pretty sure it was Pac-Man at the laundromat. The old sit-down one. Great times with my dad. But my fondest memories were of, I think, Joust. Stupid ostriches...
