    5 hours in, done a few quests, have a decision to join a faction while I am already head of a faction and don't know if I can be a part of both. Difficult to describe without potentially throwing out spoilers. I think I remembered what irritated me about a previous Fallout. Cleared an area of about 20+ gun wielding bandits without too much trouble, get killed by 2 flying mosquito looking things in a couple of seconds while walking along a road.. and had forgotten to save recently.

    So you can belong to two groups simultaneously? I guess it's likely to happen early in the game so it's not that much of a spoiler and I'll refrain from naming them, but I'm enjoying fostering a group of 'protectors'. I've not aligned with anyone else, not knowing whether that breaks my current alliance.

    I guess I could always save and give it a shot and see what happens.

    So is it good or bad? I checked metacritic reviews and was surprised to see how many bad reviews there are. Tall poppy syndrome or does it have issues?

    People are saying it's more like an FPS and less like an RPG. What's the deal?

    I am not a big RPG player but playing this and i find some of the reviews to be correct ...

    PIP BOY thing useless and giving me the utter irrates at present as it never saves the position you were at or defaults on death . but could be a setting i need to change and so hard to switch between screens at times.

    GFX are very good and as posted and i am not having any issue with frame rates drops on XB1 .. But they made the maps huge and so much of nothing in between i need a car or something ..

    Lack of instructions making it hard to know what to do but as some one posted you can kill some people then get taken out in one shot by a mosquito .. I feel the player is very under powered and as new to fallout not sure how to or if i should be getting better guns ... Head shots on raiders do nothing yet they touch you and you instantly die seems very un realistic / unbalanced

    When i look at crafting stuff i seem to have next to nothing of required mats.. Yet have been walking around and collecting stuff as you do..I do like the game and the environment but It could get very old quickly if i cant boost my rank or what ever i need to do..

    All of the random crap you've picked up will be in the "Junk" section on your pip-boy.

    Head back to Sanctuary, drop it all on the group (preferably on the road) and open the building mode (Long Press V) and turn it into scrap.

    It's a backwards way of doing things, but that's what I've come to expect from Bethesda.

    Hopefully once modding gets under way, someone will make a workbench to help scrap your items.

    So teething problems at present and we might see a new patch in time.

    Noting the speed at which Bethesda do patch stuff it might be in the next expansion.

    FOV change MA removal

    Here's what you need to tweak if you want a better FOV and/Or want to piss off mouse acceleration.

    I've flipped both mine to 90 much less tunnel vision.

    X:\Users\[name]\Documents\My Games\Fallout4\’

    Fallout4.ini file
    Change under [Interface] Line 47
    fDefaultWorldFOV=70
    fDefault1stPersonFOV=80

    Add
    add under [Controls] line 62
    bMouseAcceleration=0

    FalloutPrefs.ini

    add under [Interface] line 97
    fDefaultWorldFOV=70
    fDefault1stPersonFOV=80

    add under [Display] line 1
    bForceIgnoreSmoothness=1

    X:\[your steam directory]\steamapps\common\Fallout 4\Fallout

    FalloutPrefs.ini

    add under [Interface] line 91
    fDefaultWorldFOV=70
    fDefault1stPersonFOV=80

    add under [Display] line 1
    bForceIgnoreSmoothness=1

    The inability to remap to ESDF is making me what to scream after three hours.

    And if you don't feel comfortable editing a file, here is a neat little program that someone over at the Fallout 4 Sub-Reddit made

    Fallout 4 Configuration Tool

    I've been stashing all my junk in a dumpster. If you scrap something at a location is it bound to that location or is it available at all locations?

    You know, like Caine in Kung Fu...
    Again...it's Bethesda...it's Fallout (or any Elder Scrolls game)...which means it's gonna be a bit of a buggy, somewhat incomprehensible mess for a couple of months, maybe. I can't wait to play it...or, actually, I can...for a couple months at least.

    I certainly am appreciative of all you early adopters to sort it all before get round to playing it properly. :p

    I've made a request to have our own Fallout 4 forum. It would make asking and answering all these sorts of questions easier. I have so many questions...
