hi guys, just a bit of a stab in the dark. I did some pen and paper gaming back in my youth - DND and MERP but only very basically. It has been something i have been thinking about getting into to break up the (sometime) tedium of computer gaming. As a novice though i was wondering if there were any toggers who played in the canberra area? Also what should i look to buy - version 3.5? anyway look forward to hearing from you
D&D Next (or the 5th Edition) is due for release later this year so with D&D it may be best to wait and see how that version pans out before investing in it. If you are interested in D&D 3.5 are you aware of Pathfinder which is basically 3.5's love child. Pathfinder Roleplaying Game - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia It is very popular, well supported with a ton of books etc (including an in dev MMO) just a quality product all around I think. If the 3.5 D&D experience is what you are after then definitely have a look at it. I am not in Canberra so cannot help out there but best of luck.
Kaimahi - There are a number of places in Canberra to play DnD. I haven't tried myself (always been a bit scared to tell the truth) but I do know the GoodGame in the south has gamers there every Monday night. I'm sure there's other times. Hope this helps. Let me know if you need more info.
Depends on your time and availability, but there are three places running Adventurers League. Capitol Games in the city run on a Wednesday Night, as does the one in Mitchell. The Tuggeranong one runs some games, but the support there is not been the best in teh past, but they were playing on a Thursday once in a while. I was the AL RC fr the ACT. There is a FB page I started now run by the new RC since I moved: https://www.facebook.com/groups/actdndencounters/about/ (Log in to Facebook | Facebook) Otherwise check out online gaming options.
