    Multiplayer

    Game Description
Armed with the new Frostbite 2 game engine and more than a decade of multiplayer expertise, the award-winning team at DICE is set to deliver their biggest and most accessible FPS ever this October with Battlefield 3.

Frostbite 2 advances the state of the art, and serves as the power center that allows Battlefield 3 to deliver superior performance in character animation, visual rendering, audio and physical destruction. Battlefield 3 is the only FPS in the marketplace using Frostbite 2, and the only shooter capable of making the gameplay experience feel alive with all the sights, sounds and action of real-world incursions.

The new engine allows for massive multiplayer maps that move seemlessly between tight infantry combat to the series signature open, sandbox vehicle warfare. Each map features a varieety of environments demanding players to constantly re-evaluate the best combat tactics to deploy in order to win.

Battlefield 3's multiplayer offering is set to dominate this fall with enhanced persistence, new modes including Team Deathmatch and co-op, accessible team play and powerful and free online social features found via the games unique social
    network, Battlelog

It's be interesting if Metro had a similar Conquest map. Would make for an intense front line.

Any official word yet on weather the stinger and other anti-air missiles will be shoulder-launched? The real killer of BF2 for me was once the pilots knew the location and spawn times of the fixed AA, they'd do a bombing sweep taking out any chance of defense from the air.

I think I've seen the stinger (and it's counterpart) listed as an engie kit item - really hope that's the case. It's a game-breaker otherwise.

From the above list it appears they're covered.

    FIM-92 Stinger
    SA-18 IGLA

I just hope at reasonably close range they won't be easily spoofable. I'll either happily feed an Engie as a support class or Engie myself with an anti-air weapon if I'm squadding with a support class. Nothing brought me more joy than taking down a bird knowing the clown is cursing me considering they probably loitered around the hanger for quite awhile waiting for one to spawn. :p

Desert Combat player from way-back here, and one of my many fond memories is keeping the pilots honest :D

Flying around in a hard earned jet should be rewarding, but for that to happen, it's also got to be challenging. Knowing that potentially any ground trooper could have your destruction slung on his back is a great way to keep the pilots on their toes.

I learned a long time ago that I'm a pretty average game pilot - so I made it my mission to bring as many aircraft down as possible :D And I was goooood :p
