Well. It's over, for now. Just 40 odd more sleeps to go.
I went on BF4 for a short while and I really couldn't be bothered.
I have lost the will to game any other game but BF 1.
I didn't even like the game at the begining of the beta.
I want more and I want it now.

So there is a sense of Blue Monday floating around, mainly being portrayed out of my souless body.
So what next. I feel like I've lost a relative. [not in the supermarket] and it''s the big question. Why?
They said "taste the chocolate." i tasted and said "yum yum" and now its gone. What did I do wrong?
I'm even talking to the missus and being a good parent. This is not how it's meant to be.

So it's teddy bear in bed for me tonight.
Cry me a river and I may see you in a game of some sort.

At first I wasn't sure I was going to like BF1 all that much either...
And like you I have no interest in a liaison with the old girl friend...
I strongly suspect we will both survive these traumatic times...

I left BF4 not long after you, it just felt so inferior to the polished BF1. I have 97 games on steam, but they just don't compare.
Maybe I'll just spend the next month looking back at all my BF1 footage and reminisce , or maybe I'll go into the shed and start milling again.

And I just ran out of beer...what a terrible day.

I just looked on google maps and it would actually be a 382 metre round trip to get more, not sure I can handle that much walking in this depressed state.

Oh god, that is a long way. I am sorry for your pain, but I am afraid I can't offer any other solution. I am so sorry.

If anyone is interested and want to try something...well old.
I'm trying to assemble a band of brothers 4 - 6 players for RTS games.
I have all the Command & Conguer games. I also like Supreme Commander 2.
Uberwald, Muggermurder and Harry play these so more would be appreciated to get us all through the September.
PM me or reply here. I'm sure Nietcheddar wouldn't mind :]

Damn, I was going to jump on this morning.. didn't know it was ending.

I tried to stay away as much as possible so I wouldn't become burned out on that map before release. Looking forward to a little more variety and not so many snipers on the cliffs in the new maps. The jungle map looks a lot like one of the Battlefront maps that was a hoot to play.

That's the whole idea Gav: A beta test it ain't.
What it IS is a marketing exercise to get all the fence sitters to lay out their hard earned, and to make grown men weep & retire to bed with a ted :)

I too felt empty , but jumped on mr for a couple of rounds and hit the the top 5 -10 a few times , bf4 is more paced , but bf1 has you thinking constantly in the more intense abroad way , tango wurm major and I play payday2 in the midnight hours and though is only a 4 man crew max I highly recommend the game and if I'm not I'm play with bullet in medieval games titan quest and vanhelsing .

    Well Ivan

They certainly have done their homework as I'm caught; Hook, Line, sinker and copy of Angling times.

I tried to play BF4, but the game mechanics were annoying. Why isn't my minimap clearer, why is it so hard to set objectives with commo rose, why is it 30 Hz, why is hit reg so bad, why does the whole game look so "grainy" etc etc.

I think BF1 has blown BF4 out of the water in so many ways.

Doesn't need the "...In so many ways."

I have some other games to play like Hyperlight Drifter, and will give the Valdis Story content update some love, and I'm still restoring/building some old arcade stuff and CRTs... But dammit, I want to play BF1 some more, just a little more, just need my fix!

    Me sad ..... :(
Now I'll have to content myself by watching all the videos of BF1 that Cheese has posted up.

I guess I'll be binge watching Netflix series until it's out.

    BF3 & 4 never did it for me since 2142 and BFBC2....

BF1 has gotten my interest back.

Dunno, I think BF3 had better maps but the suppression mechanic ruined infantry combat. BF4 is a better game all things considered -- as long as you find a server that is not 64-man domination/metro/locker or fast-vehicles. At this point, BF4 is mostly spam servers.

When I tried to find a BF4 game last night, it was all spam servers. Certain maps and modes need player count limits. Spam servers are like cancer for the skill of the player base.

Here's what you do; Grab yourself a screenshot from BF1, tape it to your monitor, move you mouse from side to side and pretend you are running around and pew pewing. Problem solved.

All about them kills. Back before it was nerfed, was nothing to see a support sitting on an ammo bag, endlessly tossing nades down the elevators on Metro B flag. How anyone could find that an entertaining thing to do for 20 minutes straight is beyond me, but there you go..

It'll be interesting to see whether people who are just in it for the kills and don't PTFO change their behaviour long term when they're not near the top of the scoreboard. Didn't play the Beta long enough to see whether the snipers started moving down off the cliffs but then the stats in the Beta meant sod all since they'll be wiped.
