Bohemia Interactive have just released their first Official full HD in-game trailer (186mb, 4:42) on the official Arma 2 website.
It's still pre-release (Q1 2009) but the HD version is well worth the view of its progress.

The first post has also been updated with some interview movie links, alternate links, screenshots and other stuff of interest. There are lots of screenshots not shown here on other sites.

This is interesting as I want to get into large map strategy. Will keep an eye on this. Thanks Dr Eyeball

I had so many hopes for ARMA, but found it to be a lag fest, and no real competitive play, mostly co-op against laggy bots.

Here is hoping that the new one is better.

I tried to download the Arma demo, didn't run on vista, tried the disable 1GB memory trick, still no go. If the company isn't going to update it's demos then I can't in good concious purchase the game. Here's hoping all of that was because they're all busy making Arma 2 an awesome game.

The first summary post has been updated with all recent official trailers from the Arma 2 web site. These weekly trailers and the web site are basically introducing the background and storyline to come, so are well worth watching and reading about. Gotta love seeing those cows in-game. There are more to come each week.

I am SO looking forward to this game, and with OFP2 due out in 2009 I think I'll be in FPS heaven! Has anyone heard if BIS is still aiming for a Q1 release for ArmA2? There aren't that many days left in Q1!

Im really looking forward to the test drive on this one. Those grapics are impressive. It will be interesting to see how the large maps hold together in MP environments. I have a feeling that my rig will be screaming its head off keeping up with it all.

Did you play the original Operation Flashpoint at all? IMO the large maps worked wonderfully well and ever since all other FPS games I've tried feel like they take place in a series of cramped hallways, even games with (supposed) outdoor settings like AA, MOH, COD, etc. None of them give players the opportunity to get lost like OFP did. The first multiplayer OFP game I played (which was my very first time playing any FPS online) it took me twenty minutes just to get the map and compass sorted out and find the fight! Only to be shot seconds later by some guy hiding in a bush 200m away that I didn't even see. Vehicles also make alot more sense when the first thing you need to do is travel a few KM to the actual battlefield.

Yes, I can see this being a real resource hog and I am saving my pennies for a second graphics card if needed.

Over the past week, BI have released details on all their weapons starting from this Weaponry Summary Page, which leads to 10 more pages of weapon images and descriptions. The next upcoming releases will probably be all of their vehicles.

I am hoping that ARMA2 can effectively support VS rather than Co-Op play.

That was what I had great hopes for when I purchased the original game. But found that vs gameplay just didn't take off. Not sure if it was that the maps were too big or what.

The thought of a couple of hours campaign on a very big map, where you need to take strategic objectives would be a hoot.

Shooting Bots, while fun, does get a bit tedious.

Last week, BI released details on most (but not all) of their base vehicles (not variants) at this Vehicles Summary page, which leads to 6 more pages of vehicle images and descriptions categorised by their type.
This only shows about 50 of their base vehicles, even though there are over 120 variations in total. The aircraft carrier wasn't shown either. Not sure what they will be promoting next.

Soz all but ArmA was a retrograde step back from OFP 1 and I will wait and see what they cock up in the next release.
